Bedbug Checklist

  • Buy the correct size mattress and box spring covers from www.protectabed.com. Do not put covers on yourself. We will put the covers on after treating the bed(s) the 1st time.
  • Buy plastic storage tubs. The storage tubs should have lids that can seal in the items.
  • Buy contractor bags. Contractor bags are chosen because of their thickness. Bedbugs can escape from cheaper, thinner bags.
  • Put all clothes from bureaus into contractor bags then seal. Also put sheets, pillows, comforter, etc. into contractor bags then seal.
  • Immediately take clothes and sheets that are in sealed contractor bags to laundry area, then wash in hot water, and dry on high heat.
  • Put cleaned clothes and bedding into tubs, then seal with lid. Put tubs into corner of infected room.
  • All items in nightstands, desks, and TV stands should either be thrown out, or put into tubs. All bureaus, TV stands, desks, and nightstands should be completely empty the day of treatment.
  • The bed should be completely stripped, and all items under beds should either be thrown out or put into tubs.
  • All luggage in closets should be emptied of clothes and other items, then washed/stored same as above.
  • The rooms that need treatment should be completely clutter free and neat.
  • DO NOT move items from infected room and put in other rooms in the house. This is the #1 way to spread the problem into other rooms of the house.
  • Vacuum the infected rooms daily (use vacuum with a hepa filter). Throw out the vacuum bag after each vacuum.
  • After all the prep work is completed contact us to schedule a thorough treatment for bedbugs.
